My 9 year-old daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Jon for over a year and she really enjoys it! He is just the right mix of encouraging, funny and get down to business. He will talk about songwriting and how that can start at any age, break into song in the middle of a lesson to get a point across or play along to get kids used to playing with other musicians. He also doesn’t mind putting them in the “hot seat” to remind them of what they need to remember. He has a gentle and effective style which really seems to work. I would definitely recommend Jon as a music teacher to an adult or child looking to learn an instrument.

I have been taking music lessons from Jon for over 3 years now. I’m continuing to learn playing guitar. I have learned to read music and play chords and notes which translate into music. He makes it fun and enjoyable to come to lessons. I’ve even had the opportunity to play chords on a recorded song. Full Drum Kit lessons with Tom.
My youngest son has been taking drum lessons with Tom for about 2 years now and I can’t say enough about how much progress he has made with the instrument and how much his joy of playing it has grown. I've been with Jon for almost two years doing guitar lessons. Jon teaches in such a way that is easy and understandable for all ages. His lessons purely revolve around the student. Unlike many other instructors, he will follow what the student wants to learn. He will base his lessons on the student's aspirations and musical tastes. He relays his knowledge of music theory and techniques to help advance any student with their goals. Along with being a great instructor for theory and technique, he will also try and push students to create new music and be creative. I have been seeing Jon Quinn for about a year now. Jon makes sure you know what you are doing whenever you’re playing and encourages you to make your own music and your own sound. The instrument you are “learning” with him is simply a medium for you to express your music knowledge that jon has taught you. Kris has been super patient with me and now I’m playing popular sounds on my own with help at my weekly lessons. I started taking bass guitar lessons at Quinn Music and could not be happier with the results. I am the son of a singer in a classic rock cover band and always dreamed of someday being able to get up on stage to play a few songs with my father’s band.
Jon was incredibly supportive of this and was able to use his vast experience in performing and teaching music to stick to the core principles of his program all while keeping my goal in mind.

My son Bryce plays 2 instruments, Drums & Piano. He absolutely loves it!! Can't say enough brilliant things about both of his teachers...Tommy on Drums & Miss Kris with Piano!
Tommy is very patient with the kids as Drums can be a difficult instrument to learn for the younger kids syncing the beats and rhythm. Bryce took Drums for 2 years prior at diff places and they were awful! He never learned any songs, just played notes from a book. But he absolutely loves coming to lessons every week here as Tommy let's Bryce listen with headphones and play whatever songs he wants to learn on drums! He mixes it up, makes it fun for my son. He's learned more in 10 months here than he's ever had in 2 years. I give Tom two thumbs up as a teacher!
And Miss Kris! What a genuine person! Really enjoys working with kids of any age. It is Bryce's first year taking piano and it's such a joy to see him play every week. Piano came naturally to him, but every week he continues to amaze me! Proud mom! Miss Kris let's him mix it up and play whatever style of music he likes. While he gravitated towards classical pieces, he plays a variety of styles...popular, favorites, hit songs...so it's never boring! Some kids tune out or lose interest playing same stuff week after week. He even does duets with Miss Kris on songs he's really good at.
So, I can't say how happy we both are to have found this little gem of a music studio. I've seen Bryce make so much progress and ALL the teachers are just amazing at their crafts and working with the kids!

Definitely recommend Quinn Music.
My daughter and I both take piano lessons with Kris. She is excellent with my seven year old. Very patient and makes the lesson enjoyable for her. As for myself she is great at challenging me but not to the point where its too difficult. She allows me to go at my own pace while slowly taking me out of my comfort zone. I love how she allows me to put my own twist on certain music and think outside the box. She is very accomodating and flexible with your schedule and very affordable. It is also nice that her brother gives guitar and drum lessons in case my daughter wants to branch out. He also tunes at a very reasonable rate. Definitely recommend quinn music. Its a great experience!

Jon restrung two of my guitars recently; one new, and one very old one that had been sitting at a friends house for a year or two. On the newer one, I couldn't get the action the way I wanted it, and it wasn't staying in tune very well and the older one had a neck that was practically unplayable because of how out of line it was. Jon made all of the repairs himself, restrung and cleaned my guitars, and even helped me with some advice on making changes on my new guitar. (which I will be going to him for) My guitars are playing better and easier than they ever had. Thanks Jon!

I've been with Jon for a few months now and the lessons are rigorous and a tad bit difficult but very rewarding, and Jon takes care to go over any issue you have. Overall I feel like these courses are well worth the money and not only have I learned a lot, I've also had lots of fun.

My 9 year old son Aaron started with Jon Quinn just after New Years after receiving an acoustic guitar for Christmas. Aaron and Jon made an immediate connection. Im truly surprised in Aaron's progress in just 2.5 months. Jon is a very patient and enthusiastic teacher. I can tell that he loves teaching music. We drive some distance to get to the lesson, but it's well worth seeing my son always smiling during his lessons. I can't recommend Jon highly enough!

Jon is a VERY,VERY TALENTED musician and teacher.
He expects one to do their best but lets you progress at your own pace.
His lessons are informative and fun.Your time there is up before you know it!!!!!!

KroppDusters CD Project @ In Phaze Audio
I have known Jon and the Quinn clan since the late 1970's while I owned a music store and school in Norwich. So, here we are years later and I'm back with Jon recording The KroppDusters at In Phaze!
I have been a studio musician in NYC and was a producer at Columbia Records (Pete Seeger) in 1970. I have spent much of my professional career in world class studios with great engineers and musicians.
Jon and In Phaze are among the best of the best!!
I am very impressed with the progress our project with Jon is making for our first KroppDuster CD. The studio is very well stocked with state of the art hardware and software. The tracks we are laying down have excellent room ambience and are high quality. Jon's choice of mics and his guidance with his high production values is paying off. My experience as a studio musician in NYC and as a producer for Columbia Records (Pete Seeger) leaves me very impressed with Jon's attention to detail and quality. The standard for several high production CD's with Northern Lights are being met with the same high quality studio situation. first met Jon in the late 1970's and we have made it full circle! Jon great job-highly recommended!

I have been with Jon for a number of years now and for the last year or so have transitioned from the guitar to the bass guitar. Jon has helped me make the switch as smoothly as it can be and being a great bass player himself continues to show me different styles, techniques, and the little nuances involved with playing. Not only is Jon a great teacher but he has helped me with the selection of amps, guitars, electronics and helped me set them up. We have done road trips to look at these items and he does this all on his own time. He encouraged me to pursue playing with friends and it is now to the point that I am jamming with two different groups. Jon has become more than an instructor to me, I consider him my friend. I will continue to go to Jon for lessons and the jamming we do and I would recommend him to anyone that would like to get started with playing or to express their musical talents."

My daughter has been learning the electric guitar from Jon for a little over a year now, my daughter is 7 years old and is doing well. Jon has been very patient with her in learning the guitar. He makes learning fun at a young age, jokes with the kids but yet they still leave with something new they learned that week. My daughter always laughs about something during their lesson time. My daughters favorate thing to do on the guitar is to play cords I believe it is because Jon makes a game out of it and challenges her to do more each time. Our son had taken lessons in Norwich for about a year and although they were very nice, we had little results. When we went to Phaze Audio it made SUCH a difference! Jon Quinn is the most patient teacher, talks to them on their level but at the same time he expects hard work. He can tell when someone doesn't do their "homework" and I love that. He is serious about teaching your child the art of playing the guitar but at the same time finds way to make it fun and engage them. My son has a lot of respect for his teacher and looks forward to lessons. I have the utmost confidence in his ability. I am amazed at how far my son has come since attending his lessons. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

When I began to take guitar lessons with Jon, I was only starting the six grade. Coming to him with no knowledge about guitar playing, music theory, or even what a scale was, I was rather anxious about starting. However, Jon was completely reassuring and allowed me to develop the talent at a steady pace. Now, soon to start my senior year in high school, I have come to appreciate all that he has done for me. Unlike other teachers (who seem to stick to the book)¸he takes the extra step to form the lessons around the individual. I have loved going to the lessons, ready to show my family what I learned. Now, I am able to play a wide range of songs, learned new techniques, developed an understanding of music theory, as well as acquired a passion for the guitar. Guitar is a part of my life now and will always be. This is all because of Jon’s wonderful teaching and his ability to adapt his lessons to the individual. I absolutely recommend him for anyone who wants to learn from the BEST! :)

I have been taking weekly guitar lessons with Jon for about 10 months now. As a guy in my 20s, I came to him with no prior experience in playing music, reading music, and with only basic knowledge in music theory. Jon's patience and teaching style is a major part of why I think its so easy to succeed with him. Personally, I feel that each week when I leave his studio I have noticed at least some improvement in some area of playing (chords, notes, major scales, etc), which is something I never expected before I started playing. Plus, he has a great taste in music. He is very accommodating to personal and work schedules as well. I strongly recommend Jon to anyone.

Jon has been my guitar teacher for the last 5 years. I started in 4th grade and I am now a freshman in high school. I started without any knowledge on guitar at all, I am now capable of performing many styles and genres of music. Most teachers tend to stick with the lesson book and not deviate from its plan, Jon however uses both the book and incorporates other important ideas and factors into a lesson. Jon is a great teacher in guitar and music itself. After five years i am still learning a wealth of information each lesson.

Great Lessons and Studio Work!
Jon is an excellent guitar teacher and works to the style and interests that you have which make the lessons very fun and interesting to the students. I have taken lessons from him for four years and feel like I have learned a lot and wouldn't have rather had any other teacher. My band also went into his studio and recorded seven songs with him. He does a fantastic job as a producer! He makes spot on suggestions to help the songs move in a direction that will improve the output greatly. Very helpful, an absolute pleasure to work with, and great product in the end. Wouldn't recommend anyone else for local recording or lessons!

I am a newbie to Jon's studio, I have been going for 4 months now and feel I have learned a lot from Jon. He is very patient, and can play the guitar very well! I have learned to read my music the right way! There is something to be said about Jon he doesn't move on unless he knows you understand. I am very grateful for that. I get a lot out of my lessons. Has tought my son to love music!
My son started taking guitar lessons from Jon last fall when he was eight. Jon has been very patient with him, teaching him all the aspects of reading and music techniques. He absolutely loves his guitar. He loves to play and has even created a "studio" in the basement for himself. I never have to bug him to practice, it is something he loves to do, and I attribute it partly to his wonderful teacher. He has taught my son to love music! A far cry from piano lessons when I was a kid.....!!

My sons started lessons at the end of 2010. Our youngest being taught bass by Jon and our oldest drums by Jon's brother Bill. The patience and caring these guys show toward my sons inspired me to take guitar lessons with Jon. I've played guitar for years but always played by ear, Jon is slowly teaching me to read music. My son started taking lessons with Jon this past fall. Jon is patient with my son's attention span (or lack of), indulging him on his tangents, and then bringing his focus back to the lesson. He is always encouraging to him and motivates him to work hard. It is a pleasure to work with him. His lessons are fresh and inspiring.
My son thinks he's a great teacher and he looks forward to emails from Jon with music pieces to practice with.
Switching our lessons to Jon Quinn was the best decision we made.

Jon has been a great music teacher for our teenage son. They have worked on all aspects of music; music theory, basic chord progressions, song writing, vocals, etc. My son says, "anything you want to learn he will teach you." Can't get any better than that! Also, my son has a band and they have worked with Jon in his impressive recording studio to record their music.

My son is only 5 and just started guitar lessons. We were worried that he was too young to start, but Jon is such a great teacher and is so patient with him. Lucas is already learning so much and loves going to his lesson each week!

Working with Jon has been great. I've recorded with him on two Northern Lights projects, as well as the Parallel String Band. Not only is he a great engineer, with the temperment needed for the long and demanding hours in the studio, but he also has the musical knowledge and musical chops to furthrer support and enhance his work at the board. He truly makes the recording experience a pleasure. Not to mention, the studio is located in a great setting. Which again, adds to the whole experience..5 stars

I have been recording original music at In Phaze Audio for several years now and have enjoyed every minute of it. Jon makes it very easy to feel comfortable there and provides alot of valuable input towards the project whether it be as a musician or producer. His experience and hard work are sure to make anyone's recordings whether it be a demo or a full production cd a great sounding result. I highly reccomend Jon & his studio to anyone at any level.

Jon has given my nine year old daughter guitar lessons, as well as my twenty year old son. He is as patient and kind as he is knowledgeable about guitar. My daughter feels very comfortable with him and my son thinks he is "cool" and very talented. I would highly recommend him as a guitar teacher!

"It Was You" recording sessions
As I recorded my first album, I called on the experience and facilities of Jon Quinn at InPhaze Audio. His studio was comfortable and well equipped to handle the project from start to finish. I spent a year working with Jon who went the extra mile through recording and mixing a well as taking on the role of producer for several tracks.
In the end I have an album of material that my fans still listen to and enjoy today. The scenic drive to InPhaze Audio is a trip worth taking to complete any size recording project with quality and affordability.

Jon is a patient, brilliant engineer and producer
I have worked with Jon on two albums in his recording studio, and can't say enough about how patient and hard working he is. He is a brilliant musician, who knows how to bring a band's sound to a whole new level. The albums I did with Jon have garnered international press and aclaim. I highly recommend any serious recording artist work with Jon.

Both of our children have recieved guitar lessons with Jon for the last 2 yrs. We have been very happy with thier progress. He works with our boys in a way that they look forward to each weeks lesson. They have worked on composing thier own music and he works hard to teach music that our children enjoy. He works hard to accomodate our schedule when it comes to sports. I can't say strongly enough that we are very happy with Jon.

Jon is a great guy and really knows his profession
My son is a student of Jon's. Jon is a really nice guy and he is very accommodating. Seth has excelled in his guitar playing with Jon's instruction. Jon has also done some recording with my daughter Chelsea, who is pursuing a BFA in musical theater. Its amazing to see him at work!, and it was nice to see how well they worked together to refine the recording. He is really good at getting the best out of the performer. I highly recommend him!

Great guy. Great with kids. We have been with Jon for 3+ years and my 11-year-old son really enjoys every lesson. I absolutely LOVE listening to what he has learned - Jon is teaching him everything from reading music to composing his own songs. If you are considering lessons here, Just. Do. It.

My 12 yr old daughter has been taking guitar lessons at In Phaze Audio for nearly a year. She is a quiet, shy person and did not mesh well with an instructor at a different facility. John creates a comfortable and positive atmoshpere that has allowed my daughter to really excel with her skills. There are a lot of instructors out there who are very good at playing guitar, what I love about In Phase Audio is that in addition to John's incredible playing skill, he has demonstrated a great depth of knowledge in music theory and a wonderful ability to pass that information along to students in a way that is fun and engaging. I would recommend In Phase Audio for those new to guitar as well as those who are experienced, but want to take it to the next level.

I am a fifty year old male that decided to follow a dream and take guitar lessons. I consider myself lucky to have John Quinn as an instructor/teacher. John is not only teaching me how to play guitar but also how to read music and all the nuances that go with it. No matter your age I highly recommend John.

I have grown so much thanks to the help of Jon. I have expanded my skills to levels i couldn't have achieve without him. He has great patience and understanding for teaching and music and is always helpfull on any song i wish to learn. Thank you jon!
